For customers switching to Huawei devices, follow the steps below to avoid official WhatsApp activation or notification issues:

1. If the customer’s old device is a GMS (Like Samsung, Oppo, or Honor) device, do NOT install WhatsApp manually first on the new Huawei device. 

  • On the customer’s old GMS phone:
  • Open WhatsApp Settings
  • Change backup method to Local Backup
  • Create the latest local chat backup

2. Ensure the latest version of Phone Clone is installed on both devices. (You can send the phone clone APP from the new HMS phone to the old GMS phone using BT)

3.Use Phone Clone to transfer WhatsApp directly from the old GMS phone to the new Huawei HMS device.

4. After the transfer is completed, WhatsApp should work normally without activation or official app warning issues. 

5.After setup completion, manually search in AppGallery and install: 

  • microG
  • microG Companion

Important:

  • Do not install WhatsApp manually before Phone Clone transfer.
  • Always complete the transfer process first before installing additional support components.
