HUAWEI Pura 70 series phone exits video recording due to overheating

Problem:

When the phone is recording a video, a message is displayed indicating that the phone is too hot and camera will close.

Reply:

  1. During video recording, the running of components such as the CPUGPU, and camera may result in high payload and power consumption, which causes the phone temperature to raise significantly. HUAWEI phones come with comprehensive temperature control policies to ensure better user experience. Exiting from an app is an overheat protection measure for your phone, which is normal.
  2. If you take photos or record videos in an outdoor environment exposed to sunlight, your phone will absorb solar radiation and automatically adjust the screen brightness to a higher level, resulting in higher heat consumption than in a low light environment. Stop shooting when you feel that your phone is overheating .
  3. If you wish to record a long video, it is recommended that you set the video resolution to 1080p(default value) and the video frame rate to 30 FPS(default value) by touching the gear icon in the upper right corner of the camera screen and touching Video resolution and Frame rate.
  4. Your phone has a comprehensive temperature protection mechanism. When it detects that the component or shell temperature is too high, it will display a message and count down for 5 seconds to save your photos before exiting. You will be able to continue to use the phone after the temperature restores to normal.
  5. A new version XXX-L29 104.2.0.161 will be released to fix this issue. Please wait patiently for the new version release.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to a nearby authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
