My HUAWEI phone/tablet heats up during charging

Problem:

The phone/tablet heats up during charging.

Cause:

Energy loss occurs during charging current transmission, a process which generates heat. For phones/tablets that support fast charging and SuperCharge, the current and voltage are higher during charging, which leads to higher temperatures.

Solution:

1. Avoid charging your phone/tablet in hot places or under direct sunlight, or in a quilt or blanket.

2. Avoid using your phone while it is charging. When you use your device while charging it, the device temperature is higher than that during normal charging, as the device runs apps and the screen is on in this process. Use your device only after you're done charging. You can use fast charging and SuperCharge for a quick boost.

3. Open the My HUAWEI app and go to Support > Checkup > Battery > Overheating/Short battery life, to close power-intensive apps or follow the suggested optimizations.

4. HUAWEI phones/tablets have comprehensive thermal detection and overheating safeguards. If your phone/tablet heats up severely during charging and the issue persists after you restart the device and leave it idle for a while, back up your data, and take your device and proof of purchase to a Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
