NFC Car Key – Quick Guide

Before using an NFC car key, first activate the car key in the car brand’s app.

1. NIO

   • Set the NIO app as the default NFC payment app.
   • Keep the phone screen on and unlocked when tapping the car.

2. BYD

   • Set HUAWEI Wallet as the default NFC payment app.
   • In Wallet, set BYD Car Key or Smart Swipe Card as the default card.

3. Tesla

   • Set any preferred app as the default NFC payment app.
   • Keep the phone screen on and unlocked.
   • Keep the Tesla app running in the background.

4. Audi / BMW

   • If HUAWEI Wallet is the default payment app, set Smart Swipe Card or a transportation card as the default card.
   • If another payment app is selected, you can tap the phone directly.

Where to change the settings

Default NFC app:
Settings > More connections > NFC > Default app

Default Wallet card:
HUAWEI Wallet > Me > Shortcuts / Swipe settings > Default card
