Why are third-party app notifications (like WhatsApp) delayed or not appearing on Huawei devices?

Some third-party apps (such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or Gmail) may show delayed notifications or no notification when receiving messages or calls.

This happens because microG Services uses Google Cloud Messaging synchronization, which is set by default to check for updates every 5 minutes.
This interval may cause notification delays for some applications.

How can I fix delayed notifications on Huawei HMS devices?

Solution :

Follow the steps below to improve notification speed:

Step 1 – Open App Settings

Go to:
Settings → Apps & services → Apps → microG Services

Step 2 – Open Cloud Messaging Settings

  1. Tap microG Settings

  2. Select Cloud Messaging

  3. Tap Advanced in the top-right corner

Step 3 – Adjust Ping Interval

  1. Tap Mobile Network

  2. Set Ping Interval = 60 seconds

Then repeat the same step for Wi-Fi.

Step 4 – Test Notifications

Send a message from apps like WhatsApp or Telegram to confirm notifications arrive normally.

Tip:
Setting the Ping interval to 60 seconds allows the device to check messages more frequently, which helps deliver notifications faster.
